Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the physician in the delivery of health care by performing a variety of medically related tasks. Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and preparing pediatric patients for examination. Greets patients and managers patient care flow. Prepared patients for provider by reviewing current medications and record in medical record. Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs. Assists provider in examination/procedure rooms as needed. Assists two or more providers with clinical care. Handles all designated clinical care telephone interactions with provider input. Communicates all significant clinical findings to physician. Serves as an advocate for patient and utilizes appropriate resources. Acts as a resource for patients, families, and medical assistants.
QualificationsMinimum of two years experience as an LVN in an ambulatory setting.
Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform examinations and/or procedures.
Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report them to the physician.
Knowledge of symptomatology of common and/or life threatening medical problems.
Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with physicians, staff and all health providers.
Performs phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation and ability to use computerized patient care systems.
Possess active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
Possession of active CPR certification/BCLS.
Possession of active EKG and IV and Phlebotomy certification.
