Healthcare Data Analyst/Quality Data Specialist

Position Highlights

    • Travel required to office at SWHR Corporate Headquarters, 1603 LBJ Freeway, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234 as requested


  • Work environment: Quality

  • Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Salary range: $21.42 - $35.20 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Please note: The Quality Data Specialist is employed by SWHR. SWHR is a clinically integrated network formed by Texas Health and UT Southwestern.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Public Health, Business Management, Information Services Required

  • 2 years' experience with Healthcare-Related Reporting, Analytics, and Data Analyst Work Required

  • 2 years' experience with Data Collection and Analysis Working with Large Data Sets Preferred


Position Responsibilities SWHR Quality Data Specialist will be responsible for

Quality Performance Monitoring/Management
Responsible for data collection and interpretation in Value Based Care Data analysis across assigned Quality contracts and the Health Plan. Responsible for managing supplemental data processes with Data Analytics to assist in monitoring contractual performance for SWHR value based care contracts and Health plan to/lead UAT efforts with Data analytics and Audit teams.
Responsible for ensuring data integrity of Healthplan/payer provider, clinical and member data, etc to vendors. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate data flow between internal teams and external payors and/or vendors. Lead projects and initiatives that impact quality performance across ACO payers and the Health Plan. Identify, communicate and assist with the resolution of data gaps that impede the fulfillment of operational reporting and oversight.

Quality Reporting
In collaboration with Analytics and vendors, develop/maintain dashboards to measure performance and assist in directing strategic direction of Quality & PI efforts towards initiatives with the largest impact. Perform UAT on new data and dashboard development to ensure data integrity for quality initiative efforts. Lead the development of Quality Dashboards and/or other reporting tools. Other duties as assigned.

Quality Analysis
Provide analysis of HEDIS & Stars measures, trends, barriers, and opportunities and present results of improvement efforts and ongoing performance measures. Perform independent ad-hoc analysis for internal and external stakeholders related to CMS stars & develop reports to present results of analysis. Interpret results and preparation of data findings in easily understandable format for varying levels of internal partners and for presentation to external partners. Subject matter expert to understanding quality technical specifications related to HEDIS/ ECDS and or other regulatory/accreditation needs.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Quality Data Specialist will:


  • Experience in interpreting, analyzing, and providing recommendations regarding data accuracy and data collection needs and processes.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain accountability while working with member-identifiable health information.

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams, proven analytical skills and evidence of creative proactive problem solving.

  • Effective communication skills with presenting data analysis results to various audiences to translate complicated data into useable information as well as identify and assess problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn additional software and master new concepts quickly.

  • Experience with access databases and visual basics

  • Advanced excel and spreadsheet skills

  • Knowledge of industry standards including but not limited to NCQA, CMS, NQF, and AHRQ

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; outstanding interpersonal skills; the ability to relate positively with individuals at all levels both internally and externally

  • Accountable for delivering high quality work with a commitment to service excellence
