Job Objectives

Support differentiation in the eyes of customers by working with Businesses and Operations to quantify the environmental footprint of products, solutions, and services, leveraging Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Job responsibilities

1) Support differentiation in the eyes of customers, through an acceleration of PEPs (Product Environment Profiles) for products. This entails supporting the deployment of PEP (Product Environment Profiles) with:


  • Update of PEP process, methodology and back-office tools with regards to latest regulations and standards and segment certification programs (PEP ecopassport program operator, European Commission PEF, Building and Construction standards such as EN 15804 A2 and ISO 21930, EN50693, ISO/IEC 62 959, ErP Directive & eco-design lots, Circular economy package on material intensity EN4555X standards, Green Product China certification, ISO 14020 series...)

  • Update of PEP process, methodology and back-office tools to improve the quality or relevance of environmental information provided to customers, such as extrapolation rules at product range level, use-phase scenarios relevancy and verification procedures

  • Participate to internal and external initiative to strengthen digitization of PEP (digitization of Schneider Electric's PEP backlogs, PEP Ecopassport digital Database updates, EDP ILCD format initiative at EcoPlatform association...)

  • Support the functional specifications to embed Life Cycle Assessment into Schneider Electric's Design tools (PDM/CSM/PIM...)

  • Leverage LCA to valorize Schneider Electric's Sustainable commitments and programs such as green materials and green packaging to eventually embed supplier's performance into PEP

  • Define and deploy regular internal training on LCA and PEP generation, to grow competencies in the Environment function

  • Track PEP coverage and work with LoBs on PEP deployment plan

  • Track PEP generation, validation and registry in CaP and external databases, oversee the quality of PEPs in Schneider Electric against defined objectives. Ensure delivery of Environmental Disclosure on Schneider eCatalog and external databases (such as PEPecopassport, INIES, UL Spot, SundaHus, BVB, etc.)

2) Develop LCA or CO2 footprint configurators for systems and services, to demonstrate the environmental benefits of Schneider Electric's offers, in collaboration with Lines of Business, Segments and Strategic Account Executives.


  • Create environmental impact assessment tools and methodologies (Carbon footprint tool, PEP configurator/calculators, etc.)

  • Lead digitization projects of such tools (and/or embed in existing design tools) and collaborate closely with design and innovation teams.

  • Embed where relevant in Sales process, develop and deploy tools, and train users

3) Watch and influence external standardization on Life Cycle Assessment, such as PEP ecopassport and other EPD program operators and EcoPlatform association, European Commission initiatives (EU Digital Product Passport, Circular economy package, PEF), Green Product China certification, ISO/IEC 62 959, ISO 14020 series, etc.


  • Bring outside-in Regulatory & Standards Watch, participating and leveraging External Bodies, Professional Organizations / TC 111, Conferences, Influence PEP ecopassport Technical Committee

  • Participate in external bodies to influence standards and legislation on Life Cycle Assessment, system/architecture environmental footprint.

  • Monitor segment market and regional needs for external environmental certifications relevant for SE Products (PEPecopassport, INIES, UL Spot, SundaHus, BVB, Cradle-to-Cradle, ecolabel...), and provide feedback to business teams to ensure Schneider Electric products meet required certifications.

4) Support commercial teams in addressing specific customer inquiries in terms of Product Environmental data (PEP configurator/calculator,circularity profile, Carbon footprinting tool, ILCDformat, etc)
