The Advisory team in ATG leads projects aimed at assessing organizations Quote to Cash landscapes, needs and strategies to develop a technology roadmap. These projects often lead to a variety of technology improvement or implementation projects to that client.

Position Overview:

The Advisory Client Engagement Lead is responsible for both directing the Engagement Managers and cultivating strategic client relationships through Advisory project management and support of business development pursuits. This role will design and establish ATG’s Engagement Manager team and establish and expand Account Management and Executive Sponsorship capabilities within the organization and in cross-organizational client initiatives. 

As a key member of the Q2C Advisory Leadership team, the Client Engagement Lead will develop and execute internal strategy, lead and support the Engagement Managers, foster growth and development, and act as a thought leader for the team and company. They will work both independently and in collaboration with Account Executives, the entire Advisory Team (Quote to Cash Strategists, Advisory Analysts, and Organization Change Managers), and company Leadership, from Vice Presidents and Executive Directors to other Team Leaders throughout ATG and Cognizant.

In addition to internal leadership responsibilities, this role will be actively engaged as a Engagement Manager and consultant, pursuing, and developing Q2C Advisory opportunities and overseeing client projects. This includes demonstrating a deep expertise in client relationship management, account growth, strategic development, and business consulting. The Client Engagement Lead will also work with current and prospective clients to both sell and deliver enterprise-level strategic consulting services to business clients throughout the world, operating in a wide variety of industry verticals.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Team Leader


    • Expand and lead the Advisory Engagement Manager team for ATG

    • Establish a strategic plan to develop, grow, and financially operate the Advisory Engagement Management team

    • Responsible for team profitability and pull through revenue target on Advisory led accounts

    • Responsible for strategic annual plan in alignment with the Advisory organizational priorities

    • Support ATG Recruiting on creating a talent pipeline to support the business need for Engagement Manager resources and scale to meet demand

    • Collaborate with ATG leaders to develop the Account Management and Executive Sponsorship competency across the overall organization

    • Coach executive leaders internally on effective Account Management and Executive Sponsorship practices

    • Develop, coach, mentor, and grow Engagement Management resources

    • Passion for leading people and developing high-performing teams

    • Contribute to ATG methodology, practice innovation, and offerings development overall

    • Contribute to market thought leadership content creation and review

    • Contribute to training and developing consultants within the practice and across the overall organization

    • Contribute to local and regional culture and community engagement initiatives

    • Contribute to Intellectual Property creation  




  • Account Leader & Sponsor

    •  Quickly build an understanding of the client's business, situation, and desired outcome(s) 

    • SME and Client Executive Relationship responsibility on Advisory Transformation Accounts 

    • Responsible for establishing trust with client sponsorship and serving as an escalation path for key accounts 

    • Work directly with all engagement managers to mentor and support them in the field both as a sponsor and as a non-client facing mentor 

    • Lead from experience and with ATG tools / training to guide client path towards recommendations  




  • Engagement Manager – Project and Account Management

    • Establish a clear understanding of existing internal project set up, administration, financial tracking, and applicable internal processes.

    • Utilize as Advisory Engagement Manager on key accounts



Key Experience:


  • Expertise in establishing, creating, and scaling high-performing teams of project managers, capabilities, and operating models to support complex technology and business transformation initiatives

  • Experience as a primary organizational or client advisor / Engagement Manager, overseeing projects from start to finish: Design, implementation, SIT, UAT, Deployment

  • Experience leading end-to-end reviews of cross-functional business process landscape (ideally Quote to Cash) through a people, processes, and technology lens to formulate vision, achieve executive alignment, and define short- and long-term objectives prioritized by business value

  • Demonstrated aptitude for developing strategic plans and business case justifications

  • Proven success working with multiple Quote to Cash (Q2C) platforms involving Commerce, CPQ, CLM, CRM, Billing, or ERP enterprise transformations (including e-Business, SaaS applications, or cloud-based transformations/integrations) highly desired

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or advanced degree in Management, Leadership, Communications, or another related field preferred

  • 10+ years leading teams, with experience leading PM (Project Manager) and/or Account Management teams across multiple complex Accounts and related projects 

  • Curiosity for technology, what drives the business, and understanding how individual stakeholders approach their roles

  • Ability to anticipate obstacles, offer solutions, identify resources, and influence others to move toward a common vision or goal

  • Willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during period of heavy workload to meet project milestones and delivery deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams internally and with clients

  • Excellent communication skills with audiences of all levels

  • Firm, decisive, and willing to make unpopular decisions when necessary

  • Ability to skillfully navigate ambiguity and achieve superior results in a fast-paced and demanding environment

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to the ATG method for delivering Advisory and Transformation initiatives 

  • High emotional intelligence and empathy for how employees experience the change curve

  • Excellent problem solving, design thinking, and analytical skills 

  • Understanding of the Quote to Cash process (CPQ, Order Management, Billing, and CRM) is a plus

Relevant Technologies:


  • Transformations related to multiple Quote to Cash (Q2C) platforms including: Commerce, CPQ, CLM, CRM, Billing, or ERP enterprise transformations (including e-Business, SaaS applications, or cloud-based transformations/integrations) highly desired

  • Experience with Salesforce + key Middleware and ERP solutions highly desired High emotional intelligence and empathy for how employees experience the change curve

Performance Targets:


  • Grow the team, assess need, design the Engagement Manager organizational structure, create a talent acquisition roadmap, and develop Engagement Manager skills and competencies as needed by the business

  • Utilize 33% utilization target with a market competitive executive bill rate

  • Pull Through: Direct responsibility for Engagement Manager performance and organization revenue pull through targets for accounts under purview

Location and Travel:


  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (this can be negotiated)

  • Desired locations are ATG Delivery Centers, located in Missoula, MT, Cincinnati, OH, Kansas City, MO or St. Louis, MO, however for senior experienced professionals working virtual may be an option.
