ROLE: Instructional Designer

Cognizant is looking for a Instructional Designer in developing customized product for our clients. The role is expected to drive technology discussions and analyze the current landscape for gaps in addressing business needs. Job Description:

In this role, you will be working directly with a client to analyze audiences, perform role analyses to document skill and competency requirements, determine learning preferences, identify performance gaps, and propose, design, and develop appropriate learning solutions.

You will also:


  • Collaborate with the Team Lead to align the specific learning assets needed to the vision and objectives of the Google Cloud Sales Enablement University.

  • Work with the Google Cloud Learning Strategy & Design team members, and/or related department Program Managers and Subject Matter Experts to define learning objectives for each asset/modality, determine the type, quantity, and duration of assets needed, determine the measurement approach, reinforcement strategy, and assessment approach for each asset or group of assets, and confirm the development timeline for each asset or group of assets.

  • Develop learning assets.

  • Provide consultative guidance to the Google team, based on current requirements, prior knowledge and past experience.

  • Support the performance of analysis functions, as needed, to determine learning need, current vs. desired state, audience characteristics and requisite needs, assessment requirements, and business impact of learning interventions.

  • Create learning design with a learner-centric mindset.

  • Design learning assets that are creative, innovative, and engaging.

  • Consult with Google Cloud Subject Matter Experts during design of learning assets to ensure accuracy and compliance with Google culture and standards.

Must Have Skills:


  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders of all levels within an organization

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to clearly share your vision for learning programs through flow charts, mind maps, and other common visioning tools

  • Strong design and storyboarding skills for all learning modalities

  • Proficiency in the Articulate Suite of development tools (Rise and Storyline)

  • Proficiency with other standard learning development tools sic has Vyond, Captivate, and Evolve

  • Awareness of various Agile development methods and ability to operate in an Agile environment

  • Knowledge of various learning design models and ability to recommend the correct approach for a given learning need

  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and the Five Moments of Need®

  • Ability to confidently share your point of view with references to both examples from your previous experience and current learning literature

Qualification:


  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of focused experience in the design, development, and delivery of adult learning programs

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Enterprise Education, Adult Learning Discipline, or Human Factors preferred
