Job Summary
The On-Site Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing logistics activities between the main distribution center & the offsite storage facilities. Acts as a liaison between the offsite locations and the main distribution center by managing various inbound and outbound inventory requests, tracks the movement of these loads, requests inventory to be shipped to the main DC & ensures drivers/equipment is assigned to cover all loads. Develops and tracks on time shipping for all off sites locations to ensure product arrives at the DC on time. You will also work closely with the inventory team to ensure Inventory Accuracy is maintained and may at times resolve inventory related issues.
Core Responsibilities
Oversee the daily movement of inventory/trailers between multiple off-site locations and the main DC
Monitor the movement of inventory & communicate with offsite locations the status of loads
Communicates with Distribution team the status of inbound loads
Monitor Yard for trailer movement & assign loads to dock doors for unloading
Communicate daily unloading plan to DC Team
Ensure HOT Sku’s are assigned for immediate unloading
Create real time inventory status tool for offsite location.
Communicate with drivers & ensure freight/trailers are moving efficiently between all locations
Work with Offsite locations to ensure they have the correct # of trailers on a daily/hourly basis
Coordinate the daily movement of outbound trailers to the off-site facilities
Communicate with Drivers & off-Site locations on the status of inventory requests
Create/Maintain the daily/weekly/monthly On Time reports for each off-site location
Coordinate with the client’s shipping contact and Customer Service Representative for all issues associated with the shipment
Must be proactive in managing Drivers/off site locations
Effectively communicate with DC Team, Drivers & off site locations
Review daily order cuts & proactively move inventory between sites to reduce order cuts for outbound orders
Maintain online tracking and metrics tools
Effectively communicate with DC Team, Drivers & off locations
Completes multiple daily yard checks to track inbound/outbound trailers
Qualifying Experience
High School or equivalent required, prefer Associates degree or higher or relevant experience.
Ability to Multitask & Acts with a Sense of Urgency
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Prior experience with JDA, WMS or SAP a strong plus
Microsoft Office skills – Intermediate Level: Word, Excel & PowerPoint, SharePoint, Goggle Doc’s
Excellent Communication skills
Highly motivated, creative, and enthusiastic team player with a passion for training.
