Job Description:

We are seeking an IT Specialist for the Information Technology Department.

Reporting to the IT Specialist Manager, this key role is responsible for the technical support and resolution of issues and requests. The Information Technology (IT) Specialist is accountable for working with other IT Specialists and other IT staff as well as business units to provide timely and effective issue resolution and internal business users request fulfillment. The Information Technology (IT) Specialist  Provides knowledge and expertise in a broad spectrum of technologies including Desktop software like Outlook, Microsoft Office, Adobe, VOIP phone software, PC hosted software, clients for server-based software, and cloud software.  Knowledge and expertise are also required for supporting desktop systems hardware like PCs, headsets, PC peripherals, and vendor-provided business devices connected to our network.

Highlights:

• Assessing desktop systems technical situations and shaping appropriate actions


• Provide desktop systems support for hardware/software as outlined and approved by Chief Technical Officer (CTO) 


• Completing service tickets with appropriate information in accordance with process and procedures to ensure capture of data for Financial Management and Asset Management


• Changing user accounts in Active Directory in accordance with procedures for employee transfers, hires, and terminations


• Implement company-issued mobile devices in accordance with procedures


• Identify emerging technical problems and initiate actions to prevent and/or overcome the problems identified


• Correctly applying configurations changes to fix the root cause of desktop incidents or escalate as appropriate

Experience:

    Required

• Minimum of 2 years supporting service desk functions

 

    Preferred

• Experience supporting desktop systems to include desktop hardware, software, telephony, and access permissions


• Experience working with 3rd party vendor support;


• Experience in a technically diverse desktop systems support environment

Education:

    Required

• High school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred

• Associates or 60+ hours with intent to finish Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study

Licenses & Certifications:

Skills & Knowledge:

    Required

• Broad knowledge of Information Technology environments, support and technologies.


• Broad knowledge of desktop systems support


• PC skill to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio


• Ability to effectively communicate technical knowledge to IT professionals and credit union staff


• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills


• Strong analytical, technical and conceptual skills with attention to detail


• Results oriented with a strong focus on the customer (both internal & external


• Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties.
