Job Description:

Senior Sales Compensation Analyst


The Senior Sales Compensation Analyst is responsible for accurately calculating and communicating sales commissions on global service contracts and hardware sales in accordance with policy and individual commission plans, meeting month-end close and payroll deadlines, analyzing variances to budget, and completing other accounting and finance projects as assigned. 


 


What you’ll be doing:


 



  • Commission Calculations: duties below are to ensure that commissions are paid out according to the Sales Compensation Policy, as well as the individual commission plans, which vary depending on whether a salesperson sells service contracts or hardware.

  • Draft and finalize all incentive plan documents for review and approval on an annual and ad hoc basis. 

  • Maintain adherence to corporate compensation and sales incentive guidelines, acting as a program expert to sales professionals and others. 

  • Provide current, historical and what-if data for global business, HR and finance executives.

  • Review monthly contracts to ensure contract is eligible to receive commission and to ensure the accuracy of the amount of commission paid in each addendum of the contract

  • Review cancelled contracts to ensure that commission that was paid out is recovered when the contract is cancelled prematurely.

  • Review new contracts to ensure accuracy in commission rate (base rate, quota achievement and/or quota bonus achievement), amount and timing of commissions paid.

  • Interact with other departments on any necessary corrections to contracts related to commission to be paid.

  • Paying service commissions including preparing commission statements, sending out electronic copies to each rep and handling questions from individual reps.

  • Present salary and plan details during New Hire Sales Orientation.

  • Counsel employees and managers regarding the compensation procedures and administration by explaining guidelines and making recommendations.

  • Work with compensation manager on a variety of projects including program design, analysis, budgeting, implementation of new plans and compensation systems.

  • Month End Closing Duties include:  preparation of the Commission Journal Entry; the Journal Entries related to Prepaid Commission and Accrued Commission; and the preparation of the reconciliations of the accounts listed above.

  • Preparation of monthly management reports relating to contract bookings and quota achievement.

  • Commission software superuser and program liaison with IT.

  • Tracking Quota Achievement, handling individual reconciliations and requests for information.

  • Forecast sales performance by updating and analyzing sales cohort data.

  • Point person for annual audit requests and commissions related inquiries.

  • Administrative work necessary for preparation of rollout of annual sales commission plans.

  • Assisting in other accounting or financial projects as communicated by the manager. May consist of data management, information gathering, operational or financial analysis, etc.

  • Provide oversight and direction to the other employees on the Commission team.

  • Collaborates with the team to accomplish related results as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 


What we’re looking for:


 



  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounting/Financial Analysis. 

  • Knowledge of employee compensation / commissions is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and complex financial information in multiple ways.

  • Proven ability to accomplish demanding tasks in limited timeframes with accuracy.
