We’re hiring two Front-End Web Developers to join a team that manages several internal and external websites for our national electronic payments and information delivery network. The Federal Reserve System plays a critical role in the economy by operating a nation-wide electronic payments and information delivery network. We serve ~10,000 financial institution customers and transact over 70+ million payments daily, valued at more than $4+ trillion.

As a Senior UX Front-End Developer, you will design, develop and validate user experiences for our numerous financial service websites and applications with a focus on delivering an intuitive, consistent end-to-end customer journey. The level of work is considered advanced. You will not have any direct reports.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:


  • support leadership/team in developing, implementing and evolving an enterprise web strategy to meet the needs and expectations of all audiences and enhance the department`s communication strategies and goals

  • provide training and support for users of relevant content management systems, applications and content processes

  • meet with customers and project teams to discuss use cases/needs, scope projects and contribute to creative and technical concepts

  • implement site update requests for our internal and external online content maintained by the Fed, including credentialed, public and third-party websites where the Bank has a presence

  • apply strong understanding of usability and user experience design to design, develop and execute creative, interactive designs

  • contribute to our enterprise design system to keep pace with technology and user preferences, including conducting usability/accessibility testing of components/concepts iteratively to ensure they align with customer to confirm they meet usability/accessibility requirements

  • assist team in maintaining contingency documentation for varying scenarios and participate in periodic business resumption testing, on call outage support and troubleshooting issues

  • lead product improvement projects, including recommending best strategic path forward, including site/application migration plans that offer improved user experiences, streamline website maintenance, personalized user journeys, etc.

Education and Experience:


  • bachelor’s degree in human interface design, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience

  • continued education relevant to web technology and design/development, UX/CX, etc.

  • 7 years of experience designing scalable, high-availability, websites

  • expertise with user interaction design across diverse platforms

  • experience designing and maintaining scalable, high-availability, high-performance web sites with AI, SEO, AI/ML, personalization, journey mapping, user/accessibility testing

Knowledge and Skills:


  • proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, .NET, Dreamweaver, etc. preferred

  • strategic minded with excellent communication, collaboration, adaptability and initiative

  • ability to work on multiple, deadline-driven projects in a collaborative environment

  • experience working in an Agile methodology, preferably SAFe
