National Health Corps (NHC) is a national AmeriCorps program that recruits, trains, and places 120 individuals annually in resource-limited organizations called "host sites” throughout Central California, Chicago, Florida, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and San Francisco. NHC’s mission is to foster healthy communities by connecting those who need it most with health and wellness education, benefits, and services, while developing tomorrow’s health leaders. The program does this through three main objectives:
JOB SUMMARY
Manages the field/site operations of the National Health Corps (NHC) with partner operating sites (sub-grantees) in Central California, Chicago, Florida, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and San Francisco.
This position is a hybrid remote/on-site position that requires a minimum of two days per week in-person in the Philadelphia headquarters office.

Characteristics of an Ideal Candidate:
Supervision and Review:
The supervisor assigns work in terms of project objectives and basic priorities and is available for consultation when assistance is required and in resolving controversial issues. The work is reviewed for accuracy through spot checks, through concerns raised by stakeholders, and through observation of the employee at work.
Guidelines for Performing the Work:
Written or oral guides will offer specific instructions for completing tasks. The employee must use considerable judgment in adapting current or developing new guidance.
Complexity of the Work:
For some tasks, the facts or conditions of the work are clear cut, predictable, and apply directly to the assignment. For others, the employee must develop new techniques, methods, or approaches to complete work assignments.

The employee’s work product or service affects the accuracy, reliability, or acceptability of the overall program’s work product.

A criminal history check is required. Applicants with criminal backgrounds are welcome to apply. Work Environment:
Standard office setting with extended periods at work station and periodic use of office equipment.
Position Type and Work Schedule:
Full time position typical hours are 7.5 hour days. Monday through Friday anytime between 7:30- 6:30. Flex schedule options available with supervisor approval. Occasional evening hours may be required.
Travel:
Travel to Washington D.C once annually. Potential travel up to two operating site cities (Central California, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Florida, San Francisco) annually.
