Finance Statutory Reporting Team

 

The Statutory Financial Analyst is a pivotal member of the Finance unit and will report to the AVP of Financial Reporting. The Financial Analyst will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel including other financial analysts, divisional personnel, and/or functional staff to interpret financial data and operational performance as well as reporting financial data to external insurance agencies.



Key Responsibilities:

 


  • Prepare and analyze quarterly and year-end Statutory financial statements for certain Pool / Quota Share legal entities. Prepare the Management Review analytics while gaining an understanding of the management and legal entity financial reporting structure for North America

  • Verify the accuracy of financial statements by reviewing the general ledger and front-end system processing for reported results for the Companies

  • Successfully perform various tasks within the Statutory reporting group including data analysis, reconciliations, journal entry preparation, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory financial reporting analytics, process documentation, and special projects as directed

  • Prepare reconciliations and research out-of-balances by running queries, analyzing PeopleSoft accounts, and communicating with business contacts

  • Use various PeopleSoft end user query tools to assist in the development and modification of queries, nVision (an Excel add-on within PeopleSoft) and Essbase generated reports (a business analytics solution) which are utilized in the Statutory analytical review process

  • Continue to support departmental initiatives and play an active role regarding special projects as identified by management

Education and Experience:

 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major or minor in Accounting or Finance
