Summary
This position is responsible for the administration and maintaining all safety, insurance, OSHA, Quality Control and Bill of Materials reporting and updating. This role also supports and serves as liaison for employees and Corp APG sponsored benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer the plant's Safety Program
Maintain all required OSHA documentation
Serve as Safety Committee Secretary
Maintain and adhere to the Plant Safety manual
Receive and maintain full current OSHA training
Maintain safety records and prepare monthly safety reports
Prepare and assist in the preparation and submittal of permit applications to the proper regulatory agencies
Conduct weekly Toolbox Safety Talks
Train employees as needed
Prepare and test incoming raw materials on weekly basis and communicate findings with suppliers and management
Collect finished product and arrange testing with outside agencies to ensure compliance of finished goods with all ASTM standard
Calculate adjustments to mix designs based on raw materials testing and implement changes with managements approval
Ensure production employees are doing QC related testing and recording results as required
Inspect all finished goods for proper packaging and labeling on daily basis
Inspect work environment, machinery and equipment for conformance with governmental standards
Interviews supervisors and employees to obtain facts about work practice or accident
Observe employees and determine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used
Update/Create proper LOTO procedures for all manufacturing equipment
Ensure monthly inspections and weekly meetings are completed each month
Maintain updated A-Z books and OSHA recordkeeping compliance
Complete annual DEQ emission reports and Permit compliance
Create, update and manage all item codes and Bills of Materials on daily basis
Ensure plant management is consistently informed of any issues pertaining to area of responsibilities daily
Other duties as outlined by management related to the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Requirements / Education / Experience
Associate degree or equivalent in academic background and experience or training
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
Detail-oriented with a dedication to continuous improvement and team building.
Excellent verbal, written communications, and presentations skills
Ability to work with and through other company administrative, production and technical personnel at all levels to achieve plant and corporate goals.
Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Background in or ability to learn basic concrete technology
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
