Coke Florida is looking for a Claims Manager to work out of our Tampa area office. What You Will Do: The Claims Manager oversees the claims function in the Enterprise Risk Management department, ensuring the timely and proper disposition of all claims made against Coca-Cola Beverages Florida according to company policies and procedures. Claims examination and adjudication is accomplished through a combination of third-party administrators (TPA), legal reviews, and investigations. The Claims Manager ensures that processes are efficient and effective with appropriate accountability and oversight, and resulting reporting is timely, comprehensive, and actionable, and can resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments and functions. The Claims Manager also provides operational input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility, including input on the development of the budget.
Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily claims examination activities of the TPA staff, resolving or escalating issues and monitoring progress towards timely and proper disposition of claims.
  • Manage the TPA contract commitments ensuring regular accountability, reporting, and resolution of performance and stewardship issues.
  • Manage the physical and electronic exchange of data between TPA and CCBF ensuring timeliness and accuracy of data exchange, and efficiency of processes.
  • Conduct periodic claim file audits and regular status reviews of prioritized claims ensuring acceptable process and progress to proper disposition.
  • Coordinate input and participation of professionals involved in claim adjudication such as examiners, investigators, internal and external legal counsel, finance, and insurance carriers.
  • Timely notification of insurance carriers and broker of evolving claims activity pursuant to insurance policy reporting requirements.
  • Manage the claims sections of the risk management information system (RMIS) ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and reporting usefulness of data.
  • Establish and maintain RMIS reporting cadence and content for key users, including leadership, Environmental Health & Safety, Transportation Risk Control & Compliance, and Finance.
  • Provide operational input to strategic decisions, including input on the development of the functional budget, and various ad hoc claims reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

For this role, you will need:

  • At least eight years of experience in claims examination and management with demonstrated knowledge of an employer claims administration program
  • Bachelors' degree of higher
  • Strong analytic and process management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Additional qualifications that will make you successful in the role:

  • Insurance industry designations - AIC, ARM, CPCU
  • Experience working with an insurance TPA
  • Prior experience working with an RMIS
  • Formal legal training or certification
  • At least one year working as a claims manager
