We are seeking a full-time Aeronautical Data Specialist for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for the attribution, processing, evaluation and maintenance of aeronautical data and the execution of Quality Assurance processes.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Edit, manipulate, and maintain aeronautical data using custom and 3rd party software
Perform routine data entry and verification tasks
Conduct testing and evaluation of GARMIN aeronautical data products
Perform established operations for quality assurance
Learn, understand, and apply established or new processes
Work periodic over-time, holidays, and weekends as necessary
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Continuously adapt with evolving technology and product requirements
Periodic over-time, holiday, and weekend work may be necessary
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university OR substantial demonstrated aeronautical knowledge that would allow the Associate to complete the essential functions of the Aeronautical Data Specialist position.
Excellent academics (cumulative GPS greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Proficient computer skills - familiarity with Windows Operating System (OS), Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professonal and other PC based office applications.
Must be detail-oriented with the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
The ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced, and challenging technical environment to meet competing and concurrent deadlines
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of Aeronautical navigation data and/or Instrument Flight Rules, Instrument Procedures, and the National Airspace System
Database skills and SQL knowledge
Familiarity with Cartography, GIS principles and methodologies
Bilingual skills
