We are looking for a full-time Field Service Engineer – RV for the Elkhart, Indiana area.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a full-time Field Service Engineer – RV in the Elkhart, Indiana area. In this role you will be responsible for becoming highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities, and operation of Garmin products, with emphasis on Garmin RV, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment products. Other essential functions include:
Travel to customers facilities to provide regular on-site support of RV Installations
Create written procedures to assist the correct installation, calibration, set-up and operation of Garmin RV, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment products
Provide training on correct installation, calibration, set-up and operation of Garmin RV, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment products
Assist in troubleshooting any problems with Garmin RV, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment products
Create regular monthly reports on the regular on-site support
Accompany Sales personnel on OEM and dealer sales calls, as needed, as well as assisting the specification of Garmin, Empirbus or Fusion Entertainment products for sales quotes
Answer customer and installer technical inquiries regarding Garmin, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment products.
Monitor, document, and report failure trends in Garmin, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment equipment
Identify and recommend improvements in Garmin, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment products, documentation, and procedures
Review owners manuals, installation manuals, and maintenance manuals for completeness, technical accuracy, and areas likely to be misinterpreted
Communicate with Product Support and Warranty to identify problems that are occurring in the field. Relate these problems and solutions back to the FSE Team
Remotely located Field Service Engineers:
Provide on-site support of RV OEM Installations and troubleshooting in an manufacturing environment
Verify reported defective products at Customer’s facility
Train customer’s personnel in the installation and operation of Garmin, Empirbus and Fusion Entertainment equipment
Qualifications
Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Military/Trade school training OR a minimum of 4 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:
Must possess a minimum of 4 years work experience performing marine AND/OR RV electronic equipment installation/troubleshooting
Must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills to work effectively across functional and organizational lines
Must demonstrate a superior customer-oriented attitude
Must possess a demonstrated proficiency using personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Word & Outlook Must demonstrate an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Excellent time management and follow-up skills
Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
Previous experience in a Marine OEM, RV OEM, or installing dealer facility is highly preferred!
