POSITION PURPOSE

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for altering and repairing garments, hotel linen and bedding according to department policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.

2. Alters and repairs garments, linens and bedding, according to department policies.

3. Operates all machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

4. Tags and/or marks garments as needed.

5. Reports need of replacing garments to the supervisor.

6. Keeps accurate records of all material needed and used to alter and repair garments.

7. Keeps supervisor updated on supply usage.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Basic knowledge of garment alterations and repairs.

2. Ability to follow through with repairs and alterations according to department policy.

3. The skills and abilities of this position are typically acquired through three years' commercial seamstress experience.

4. Vocational training in sewing preferred.
