The Business Transformation department is committed to supporting the company's current and long term strategies. As part of the BT organization, the Network Information Specialist will gain knowledge and experience with the overall network from assets to configuration and design.


What you'll do in this role:


Strategy & Planning

• Collaborate with network engineers to identify standard platforms and lifecycles.
  
  


• Participate in the development of network asset management strategies as applicable to the SMG network for inventory control and license management.
  
  


• Ensure accuracy of network inventory systems for all production network devices.
  
  

Acquisition & Deployment

• Support device tracking for networking projects and new technology installations.
  
  


• Provide support of network procurement and support efforts.
  
  


• Participate in the management of network support contracts for network inventory.
  
  

Operational Management

• Support overall lifecycle of network devices including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.
  
  


• Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding network assets.
  
  


• Perform on-site staging of network gear for the "prep bench" supporting network deployment projects.
  
  


• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.
  
  


• Provide support as needed procedures for procurement, support and licensing of all network assets.
  
  

What you'll need to be successful:

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills


• Interest in knowledge of tools used for asset management/inventory control.
  
  


• Interest in knowledge of project management concepts and deliverables
  
  


• Proficient in technical documentation
