Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team specializing in Finance for our Cummins Business Services based in Nashville, TN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:


  • The Senior Payroll Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting the Payroll Tax and Compliance Manager with tax issues and tax notices, which includes but not limited to, a full range of responsibilities related to US multi-state/ Canadian/Puerto Rico withholding and unemployment tax compliance, corrections to annual-tax statement, year-end management, Tax notice resolution, and W4 management.

  • Responsible for the preparation of complex tax returns and execution of complex projects related to the application of tax laws.

  • Provide guidance to less-experienced payroll tax analyst.

  • Research and interprets tax laws, analyzes, and summarizes tax information, and make recommendations to ensure compliance with tax regulations.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience required.

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting required. Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Certified Payroll Professional, or similar certification preferred.

  • Possess extensive experience in multi-state payroll tax research, payroll tax processing and compliance. Experience with W2 Processing and W2c processing with corresponding Amendment in ADPSC.

  • Expertise in ADP Smart Compliance Tax Filing, and SAP GlobalView Tax Compliance Navigation, tax balance adjustments, Tax audit as assigned.

  • Complete Daily Payroll tax funding and reconciliations, while resolving tax notices with ADP as per your assigned states.
