The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Lead value stream improvement projects, including development of value stream maps and driving cycle time improvements


• Identify opportunities and lead improvements in safety, quality, service, and cost


• Support rapid resolution of customer complaints, including timely response, and implementation and communication of corrective actions


• Provide daily production support and troubleshooting for assigned products and manufacturing operations, including occasional availability on nights and weekends as needed


• Improve manufacturing operations using Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies


• Maintain, track, and report on unit/static costs and variances for assigned products

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree/Technical Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and three (3) or more years of combined experience in Product, Process, Quality, and/or Manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution


• Three (3) or more years of combined experience in Product, Process, Quality, and/or Manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment


• Proficiency in the use of statistical tools and data analysis in problem solving


• Experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts and methodologies to manufacturing


• Leadership with driving quality improvement and cost reduction projects


• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills


• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
