Job Description

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision


• Regular attendance and punctuality


• Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

• Under detailed direction, precisely and accurately:

  • Performs physical testing (HPLC, moisture, particle size, pH, water activity, color analysis, etc.) on various samples as requested; records data in lab notebook and occasionally, on spread sheets.
  
  
  • Assembles bench-top and/or pilot plant formulas as directed.
  
  
  • Performs shelf life study tasks.
  
  
  • Performs sensory study tasks.
  
  
  
  

• Prepares needed equipment, glassware, reagents, supplies, etc. as requested.


• Maintains documentation; Organizes computer and hard copy files and records in lab notebook for corporate records and sharing.


• Orders ingredients/supplies and requests documentation.


• Keeps updated and educated on relevant news, literature and findings in the industry. Networks with individuals outside IFN.

• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner


• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate of Sciences degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Minimum of one year of practical experience is preferred, ideally working in a laboratory setting with biological materials; experience working in a food or agricultural laboratory or in a culinary setting is particularly preferred.


• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is part-time, on-call,as-needed (about 15 hours per week). Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Ithaca, NYare encouraged to apply.
