Job Summary:
Manage product development programs and systems integration projects at Wabtec Railway Electronics (WRE) business unit of Wabtec Corporation. The position is for the Germantown MD location
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Lead cross functional teams to customize and develop new products
Manage the systems integration of our products for our customers
Develop technical customer required documents and manage submittals and responses
Coordinate specifications and requirements development
Create the program plan that meets all requirements
Develop, coordinate and manage the master project schedule
Work with functional managers to obtain and allocate resources
Work successfully within a matrix environment
Track and manage the product costs and project costs
Conduct external and internal project reviews
Identify and mitigate potential issues and risks on the programs
Lead the resolution of technical and business issues
Manage the product transition to production
Track project progress and ensure tasks are completed on time.
Lead the tactical activities related to first production units' shipments and installations
Serve as the primary point of contact with end customers
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
Self-starter with six plus years' experience managing engineering/technical programs.
Efficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft project.
Excellent organizational skills.
Understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Self motivated; bias for action; willing to "roll up sleeves", as required.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Previous experience in the rail industry is a plus.
