Job Title: Corporate Proofreader/Production Assistant

Location: Boca Raton, FL (Hybrid)

Utilizing local offices with non-commissioned sales representatives, they offer a wide variety of retirement savings plans and services, including 401(k), 403(b), and 457(b) deferred compensation plans. Mutual of America also provides investment vehicles to individuals for their retirement and other long-term financial needs.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Senior Manager, the Corporate Proofreader/Production Assistant will proofread materials generated by the Company, including marketing materials and corporate communications. These materials include, but are not limited to, print materials, website pages, emails, social media content and PowerPoint presentations. Materials often include complex financial information and Compliance disclosures requiring close attention to detail and may be reviewed on paper or on screen. This position also involves Production-related responsibilities.  Overall responsibilities for this role include, but aren't limited to the following:

Proofread for accuracy and/or edit for punctuation, grammar, style and formatting, in accordance with current Corporate styles and Compliance disclosures, the following materials:

• Print materials, including ads, letters, brochures, flyers, press proofs, forms, memos, newsletters, invitations, business cards, annual reports, press releases, executive communications, thought-leadership content, etc.


• Corporate website pages, emails and social media content


• PowerPoint and webinar presentations

Perform Production-related tasks, including, but not limited to:

• Draft and distribute internal Corporate Communications emails


• Maintenance of digital sales and marketing materials libraries


• Assist with ordering print marketing materials

Required Qualifications:

• College degree required in English or related discipline


• Extensive knowledge of English grammar and punctuation and The Chicago Manual of Style
  


• Familiarity with standard proofreader marks and AP style


• Initiative to research and fact check information, often using internet search engines


• Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail


• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously


• Professionalism in dealing with all levels of personnel


• Proficient in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat (particularly the change tracking and commenting tools) and a working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook and the use of web browsers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ideally, at least one to two years of professional proofreading experience


• Experience proofreading investment services content a plus


• Familiarity with MS SharePoint and various social media platforms a plus
