Job Description:

We are seeking outgoing, patient focused individual to work as a Medical Receptionist for us at California Retina Consultants. This position's home office will be San Luis Obispo, CA.
You will be responsible for an array of activities related to patient intake and care, including greeting and checking-in patients, as well as verifying information supplied by patients. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional multitasking abilities. To be successful as a Medical Receptionist, you must be able to facilitate and coordinate communication between patients, family members, and medical staff.
This position will require occasional Saturday's and travel. Staff is compensated for travel time and given mileage reimbursement. A clean driving record and proof of vehicle liability insurance is required. This position will travel to other offices in this region including: Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Paso Robles.

Responsibilities

Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
May also perform temperature screening duties in compliance with HIPAA privacy.
Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties and answering questions
Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven ability to work in a fast-faced, patient-focused, team environment
Willingness to be flexible, adaptable, and do whatever is necessary to provide excellent patient care.
Prior Administrative or Front Desk experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
Must be able to "think on your feet" and have exceptional multi-tasking skills
Be an excellent team player who works cooperatively and respectfully with all doctors, supervisors and co-workers
Displays a desire to perpetually "Learn and Grow"
Efficient and highly accurate user of applicable information technology and health care management systems
Physically capable of working long hours in a fast-paced, often stressful, environment with the potential of emergency situations.
Possess excellent professional judgment
Spanish / English bilingual fluency is required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
