Under the supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, the Distribution Operator II is responsible for operating scale #4, #3, and #2 as well as keeping accurate records and performing various preventative maintenance tasks and repairs to equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform daily housekeeping duties
Complete proper paperwork
Operate Seltec system
Communicate respectfully to customers
Load trucks on scale #4, #2, and #3
Operate super bagger
Load railcars, bulk trucks on and off scales
Clean pump pits, remove chunks from silos and air slides
Visual inspection of lubrication gauges and belts
Assist with trouble shooting and correcting issues with equipment
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
Basic Computer skills
3 years' experience in cement manufacturing plant
Must be able to also perform all essential functions of the Rail Operator
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language
Must be able to learn to drive and operate bobcat using levers and pedals to operate for clean-up
Must be able to climb ladders of 50' in height and stairways of 30' in height
Must be able to read and understand operating manuals for mobile equipment operated
Must be able to assist in making minor repairs.
Preferred knowledge of all types of equipment used in the manufacturing of cement
Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings
Able to use required hearing protection in certain areas
Ability to work at heights up to 60' above ground level
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground)
Climb stairs and ladders as high as 350 feet in elevation
Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stairs and stockpiles, stoop and crawl under and into enclosed spaces
Visual acuity, speech & hearing, hand & eye coordination
Manual dexterity to operate equipment and use basic hand tools
Walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, driving, and squatting to perform the essential functions of this production labor position
Must use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in all weather conditions including heat, cold, ice, rain and in high humidity and is required to work in all plant environments.Incumbent will be exposed to vibrating equipment and mechanical and electrical hazards and heights..May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc. (See MSDS's)
