Position Overview



Shred Operators ensure a safe and environmentally sound operation, and achievement of targets related to quality and productivity. Incumbents employ Novelis' values in a manner that contributes to Teamwork, Caring, Excellence, Responsibility and Innovation. Operations Technicians - Shred report directly to the Shred Area Leader, then to the Shred Business Unit Leader, and ultimately to the Operations Leader.

Responsibilities & Qualifications



The following list includes primary responsibilities and is not meant to be all-inclusive.

• Actively participate in elements of Greensboro, Novelis safety system
• Ensure compliance to environmental requirements
• Unload trucks
• Ensure quality of incoming material
• Maintain feed rate to melters
• Maintain records using computerized systems, including RMAC
• Account for receipt/shipment of material by truck
• Basic maintenance of cold metal equipment
• Keep all work areas clean and bright

This is a list of physical requirements, related to a person's ability to handle certain physical, mental, emotional demands.

• Climb on/off fork truck several times a day
• Climb stairs occasionally
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Work rotating shift schedule, including nights and weekends
• Be able to work at temperatures < 50 degrees in the winter to >100 degrees in the summer

Location Profile



Novelis' Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis' recycling technologies.
