Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Position Overview –

 

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for the company’s daily management reporting, financial forecasting, annual planning, monthly variance analysis, capital expenditures oversight, and special projects. The position provides financial consulting and support to operations personnel as well as senior management. This is a hands-on role that requires the analyst to work directly with management and the operations personnel to understand and improve the business.

Responsibilities


  • Lead budgeting process, prepare monthly forecasts, variance analysis and explanations.

  • Assists with monthly reconciliations and entries for month end close and variance analysis to budgets and forecasts

  • Prepare monthly performance reports, financial analysis, and evaluation of historical trends. Continuously seek to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the forecasting process.

  • Develop financial models and benchmarking analysis for senior management strategic decision making.

  • Conduct variance analysis against plan and forecast to assist with forecast accuracy and variance explanation.

  • Responsible for reviewing and tracking indirect expenses, overhead and G&A rates monthly. Perform variance analysis to forecast and planned budgets.

  • Interpret financial data and communicate recommendations to department leadership and company executives.

  • Direct the daily activities and the career development of team members, including hiring, coaching, reviewing work, establishing goals and performance management of team members as required

  • Oversee the company’s capital investment portfolio from cradle to grave.

  • Provide business intelligence with financial results and key performance indicators to facilitate business decisions

  • Prepare daily production and efficiency reports for senior management.

  • Drive process improvements, cost reduction, automation, and system upgrades.

  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with functional leaders and teams across the company

  • Manage special projects and ad-hoc requests from senior management.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required

  • Master’s degree in Business or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to balance attention to detail with "seeing the bigger picture"

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Problem solver, can-do attitude, and go-getter personality

  • Covid-19 vaccinated prior to in-person interviews and site-visits and committed to taking all necessary and appropriate FDA approved and CDC recommended boosters during AJM employment.
