Job Description:

Toth & Associates, Inc. has an opening for a Transmission Design Engineer to add to our growing team in Billings, MT! Responsibilities include the conceptual, preliminary, and final design of transmission and distribution lines. The successful candidate will work under the direction and mentorship of a Project Engineer to develop design calculations, drawings, specifications, and other documents for construction.

Specific responsibilities include using PLS-CADD software, analysis and design of transmission structures and foundations, developing structure performance drawings for vendor procurement, plan and profile, and staking sheet development, stringing charts and phasing diagram development, producing material and construction specifications, preparing material lists, and performing other design tasks as needed. Design Engineers assist the Project Engineer in the coordination, quality monitoring, and oversight of designers, drafters, and support staff.

• BSCE, BSME, or BSEE from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required


• 1+ years of experience in transmission line design preferred


• EIT certification and plan to obtain PE license


• Fundamental knowledge of transmission and distribution engineering principals, codes, and standards


• Strong organization and planning skills


• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills


• Ability to work in a team environment


• Commitment to quality and accuracy


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Good working knowledge of Excel and AutoCAD a plus
