Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Buyer to play a key role within our organization and as an integral member of the Supply Chain Team. This role is responsible for utilizing the ERP software and other demand sources to ensure material/components are in stock to meet internal production schedules and assembly requirements that meet customer demand and expectations of the company.

Job Responsibilities


  • Oversee the requisition of goods and services for the company

  • Compare the price quotations from suppliers/vendors and choose the most cost-efficient option

  • Manage the Procurement Process of Supply Base efficiently and effectively

  • Support Operational requirements evaluate demand utilizing the ERP system and other demand sources, analyze and procure material ; making sure products and services get delivered on time and meet the required standards

  • Monitor Open Purchase Orders to ensure accuracy of delivery information expedite when required to support Production Schedules

  • Assist Supply Chain Management with Product and Material Forecasts

  • Sourcing new suppliers it all starts by qualifying suppliers before initiating negotiations

  • Ability to read, interpret and discuss product drawings internally and externally with suppliers

  • Work with current suppliers on the ASL on new business opportunities

  • Negotiating best price, best terms, blanket orders, and delivery schedules

  • Monitoring Suppliers Performance and assisting with Supplier Scorecards

  • Research, select and purchase quality products, materials and services

  • Proposal of ideas to Supply Chain and Operations Management

  • Supplier Relationship Management Build partnerships with Key Suppliers

  • Engage suppliers in projects that improve quality, minimize lead times, and improve pricing

  • Work with Quality Assurance to assess the quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management

  • Maintain Supplier Information in the ERP System

  • Develop strong relationships with other Functional Groups within the company

  • Support Organizational Goals and Objectives

  • All other Duties As Assigned

Requirements


  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including strong Excel experience)

  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills

  • Excellent Critical Thinking and Time Management skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Ability to quickly learn new computer software

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Ability to be a self-starter and work extended hours when necessary

  • Ability to travel when required

Desired Experience


  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 4-year Degree from an Accredited University in relevant field Preferred and a minimum of 3 years purchasing experience
