Tax Operations, a team that oversees annual tax form filing and production for over 4 million customers in the US Business each year, performs tax form and account maintenance, answers customer tax inquiries and coordinates changes due to tax regulatory alerts across the US Businesses.

The Tax Associate is responsible to assist the Tax Manager in maintaining and supporting the filing and compliance of tax records / reporting.  This position includes providing accurate tax guidance for tax law changes in addition to guidance for routine / complex tax inquiries and problem resolution. The Senior Tax Analyst will also review, process and test tax related and systems issues, handle complex tax projects as well as the support of business-related projects.    Should have strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to successfully navigate through all Microsoft products i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint, strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to escalate issues/concerns and risks.

The primary responsibilities of the Associate, Policy Administration position are as follows:


  • Identify process improvements and initiate projects to optimize current Tax & Regulatory Reporting processes through strategic transformation using best tax practices including the use of Microsoft Excel templates and macros.


  • Responsible for maintaining tax withholding and reporting for clients.  May include: Coordination, Preparation and Filing of Various Tax Forms – 1099, W-2, 1042S, 5498, Schedule A, etc


  • Ensure that the tax operations are following current regulations and legislation.  Adapt current processes to new regulations including documentation for any new changes.       


  • Technical tax support for the business, system partners, and our team.  Such as assisting with business questions, problem resolution, tax audit updates, system review, risk assessments, and testing.


  • Documentation and implementation of training plans across multiple sites. 


  • Interface with Corporate Tax, Compliance, Risk, Legal and vendors to ensure we are in compliance with regulatory rules with our administrative platforms and reporting records.


  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of tax records and research to support internal and external audits.


  • Responsible for all identification and processing of customer communications related to Tax and TAMRA legislation.


  • Receives, evaluates, and answers customer inquiries and processes manual transactions due to system limitations that require deviation from standard process screens, scripts or procedures.  


  • Adheres to production, quality, and service standards, including flexibility to accommodate varied work schedules.


Qualifications:


  • 1 to 2 years operations or tax experience recommended  


  • Tax & Regulatory Reporting experience preferred but not required


  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical production issues


  • Microsoft Excel skills required


  • Experience working in an Agile environment preferred


  • Analytical and problem-solving skills


  • Organization, prioritization, and execution skills and the ability to successfully multi-task and manage change


  • Effective interpersonal skills


  • Written and verbal communication skills


  • Collaborative and partnering skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.


*Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident.

Salary range specific to Colorado: $49,000 - $66,300 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
