Your Impact:

The Hearst Visual Group produces and sources the visual content for 16 of our print and digital brands. The Visual Editor position we are hiring for will work on Delish and Oprah Daily.

What You'll Do:


  • Produce photo shoots for print and digital which includes booking photographers, stylists, photo/video crews, hair, make-up, etc.  

  • Art direct on set

  • Source photo research for Oprah Daily which is a fast-paced digital first brand

  • Collaborate with the art and edit departments on visual solutions

  • Support visual deputy editors and directors with photo shoots, mentor junior visual editors and collaborate with visual team and brands 

  • Oversee story sections and shoots

  • Handle post-production for shoots including asset management, editing and retouching

  • Manage invoices, department expenses, estimates, advances, contracts, call sheets and insurance

  • Process images and input photo credits

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2-4 years of experience working in a photography related field

  • Strong skill set and knowledge base of stock photo agencies to conduct photo research, including creative, editorial and news related topics

  • Enthusiastic about food photography and able to produce this kind of imagery

  • Proficient knowledge and relationships with industry photographers, artist agencies and stock agencies
