Financial Reporting Analyst at Guardian in New York, New York

Job Description:

As the Financial Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for the preparation of statutory financial statements and supplemental reporting for GIAC, GIAC SA & BLICOA. This role will require proficiency with various financial systems and report writers involving the preparation of analytics for business drivers triggering period to period variances as well as regulatory monitoring and reporting as required.

Are a strong team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Have excellent research and problem-solving skills and ability to resolve problems or propose solutions. Strong ability to quickly adapt to changes.

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.


• 5 years of experience.


• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel to include Pivot Tables and V Lookups, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access,  SmartView, and Oracle).

You will:

• Accurately prepare and file quarterly and annual statutory financial statements within required deadline along with required supplemental exhibits and reports for GIAC, GIAC SA & BLICOA financials.


• Partner with legal to monitor regulatory requirements as assigned, comply and file accordingly.


• Prepare analytics and business drivers for GIAC’s statutory financial statement period-to-period variances.


• Seek opportunities to improve Statutory Reporting processes in addition to partnering with businesses on system or business projects.


• Troubleshoot and resolve reporting discrepancies timely and accurately.
