Under the direction of Tricentis’ Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), the Director of External Financial Reporting oversees the organization's external financial reporting processes and other technical accounting processes such as accounting for goodwill, business combinations, and debt. The Director of External Financial Reporting will have management of the financial reporting process, which includes overseeing all aspects of the SEC and private company reporting function including preparation and filing of Form 10-K’s and Form 10-Q’s, including MD&A, consolidated financial statements and related notes. The Director of External Financial Reporting is responsible for identifying improvements in processes and internal controls to ensure the company’s financial reporting comply with all government regulations and generally accepted accounting principles best practices. The Director of External Financial Reporting has acquired the business acumen and leadership experience to partner with senior leaders within the organization and serves as the primary contact for coordinating Company financial disclosures.

  • Assist in the preparation of the company to be ready to pursue a public offering.

  • Manage all aspects of the SEC and private company external reporting function – preparation and filing of Form 10-K’s and Form 10-Q’s, including MD&A, consolidated financial statements and notes including EDGAR and XBRL submissions – plan, communicate and coordinate the document-related responsibilities and timing of multiple corporate departments.

  • Coordinate disclosure issues – participate in quarterly reviews with key corporate and business unit management – obtain and review quarterly representation letters and other questionnaires from business units and present findings to the company’s Disclosure Committee – complete annual and quarterly disclosure checklists in connection with SEC filings.

  • Assist in reviewing and editing financial-related press releases, conference call scripts and slides, and the company’s Annual Report and prepare supporting documentation – prepare press release financial statements.

  • Prepare various financial statements, notes, and MD&A disclosures in the periodic filings. Analyze period over period fluctuations and draft MD&A and prepare and/or review the tie-out binder supporting the SEC filings.

  • Prepare technical research on accounting and SEC issues and preparation of memos or “white papers” which document the Company’s accounting position on certain issues in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Continually monitor authoritative accounting literature, assess the impact of new and existing accounting pronouncements, and apply guidance as applicable.

  • Maintain and assist in the preparation of accounting policies, procedures and controls including ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls over the financial reporting process in accordance with SOX.

  • Manage and administer all aspects of the Company’s intangible assets in accordance with GAAP guidelines established under ASC 350, Intangibles - Goodwill and Other.

  • Assist in accounting due diligence of potential acquisition targets.

  • Manage and administer all aspects of purchase accounting in accordance with GAAP guidelines established under ASC 805, Business Combinations.

  • Manage and administer accounting processes for the Company’s credit agreement, and/or other debt instruments

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Who you are:


  • CPA preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in both public and industry accounting preferred. Big Four Public accounting experience required.

  • Experience with accounting and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, including the preparation and/or review of financial statements and footnotes.

  • Experience with SEC filings with exposure to SEC rules and regulations.

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills /ability to continually prioritize workload and respond to top priorities with a sense of urgency.

  • Detail-oriented with both the ambition and willingness to dive into the details necessary to accomplish responsibilities and solve problems

  • Experience researching and documenting accounting treatment for various transactions

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholder

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possesses critical thinking and decision-making, analytical problem solving, business astuteness, and process orientation skills.

  • Independent, self-starter. Able to set agenda and drive progress with little direction.

  • Superior organization & attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and synthesize multiple perspectives complete the highest priority items.

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to go above and beyond when needed.
