VDC Support Technician at Lee Company in FRANKLIN, Tennessee

Job Description:

Summary of Job:

To work with VDC team on project set up procedures, help implement BIM best practices, creation of Revit models for Mechanical and Electrical systems, and manage 3D scanning processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creation of BIM Models for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical systems.


• Performs QA review of BIM files for efficiency and accuracy.


• Maintain training and continued education for incumbent and team to continually improve accuracy and productivity.


• Work as part of BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent, best practice driven results.


• Support VDC team during all phases of project document production.


• Provide Input to management regarding both hardware and software requirements to perform duties.


• Operate and maintain specialized equipment and software to 3D scan, measure, and document existing conditions.

Education and Experience:

• 1 or more years of experience with installation of mechanical or plumbing systems. Not required but preferred.


• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Trimble Real Works, or any other BIM software is a plus.


• 1 or more years of experience with laser scanning data collection process.


• A working familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and Outlook and ability to be trained in use of the Company-specific applications and software

Individuals in an office-based position will encounter ambient room temperatures, fluorescent lighting, and will be expected to operate traditional office equipment as found in any typical office environment. A person in this position can be expected to reach over shoulder heights; crouch or stoop below the waist; experience repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds depending on the position. This position will be using the scanner and working in unconditioned environments, sometimes needing to climb multiple stairwells while carrying the case (weight) and a way to hydrate while wearing a hard-hat, gloves, safety glasses, high visibility vest, work boots, full length pants and long-sleeve shirt.
