Media Relations Manager at NXP Semiconductors in San Jose, California

The ideal candidate should know the top media audiences in the semiconductor and technology spaces, be confident in picking up the phone, and be a strong writer, editor and collaborator who works closely with stakeholders globally to share stories, sharpen messages, and make complex information accessible and engaging to a broad range of audiences.

The Media Relations Manager should be a self-starter and proven team player with a can-do attitude, preferably with experience in the high-tech industry, and comfortable working in a matrix-style organization.

Experience in crisis and issues management, ESG, and executive profiling is a plus.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop a wide range of corporate communications materials, including press releases,  blog posts and talking points, with the ability to work these content pieces ultimately from their conceptionulaizaion, the writing, editing and required approvals. 

  • Work in lock step with the Social Media team to create and support social media programs and engaging posts.

  • Assist, build and execute communications strategies.

  • Manage and help improve the company’s news distribution process from beginning to end,  making enhancements as needed

  • Become the go-to person for the newsroom section on nxp.com, ensuring accuracy across all aspects.

  • Serve as a conduit between external and internal communications channels, developing and repurposing content where appropriate to capture the attention and drive engagement across a variety of audiences.

  • Assist with crises and issues as required.

  • Support NXP’s executive profiling program.

  • Help create and manage communications plans, creating unique ways to amplify NXP’s brand across our channels.

  • Qualifications:

  • 5 +years of professional writing experience, preferably in a news or corporate environment.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, including collaborating effectively within and across remote teams.

  • Proactive and adept at juggling numerous projects, managing multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.

  • Creative thinker with a proven track record of identifying opportunities and new ways of working.

  • Broad digital literacy and familiarity with conventions of significant news and social media platforms.

  • A solid record of managing the news release process as well as publications/social and digital to high-quality standards.

  • Discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
