Job Description:

The General Clerk I Lead is responsible for the Consolidated Mail Facility and RTC Mail Room postal duties.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Responsible for the Consolidated Mail Facility and RTC Mail Room postal duties.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Sort and prepare TSC, NAVSTA, RTC and inter-departmental mail/parcel for delivery. 20%
2. Operate postage meter machine and placing proper postage on outgoing mail. 20%
3. Provide directory services for all Great Lakes and tenant command. 30%
4. Maintain records for accountable mail and maintain appropriate records including parcels, and other mail requiring special handling. 10%
5. Prepare daily weekly and monthly postal reports. 20%
6. Follow all safety procedures
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must have basic computer skills.
* Holds a minimum of Interim Secret Clearance
* Must have a valid driver's license.

* Knowledge of basic office procedures.
* Ability to read, write and perform some math calculations, as well as be able to use the current postal and Navy programs as it pertains to this job.
* Ability to relate to co-workers and supervisors.
* Must have great customer service skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in written and verbal form.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

* Ability to sit for long periods of time then, stand, bend and reach above shoulders continually.
* Ability to lift, push and pull over 50 pounds.
