Dow has exciting job opportunities for Equipment Care Operators in Carrollton, KY.

Job Summary:

Are you interested in a job where you are able to use your technical skill and critical thinking to help your team succeed? In this role, you will work in an environment such that no two subsequent days are the same. You will be able to own your work while your team safely produces the highest quality silicones.

Responsibilities:


  • Follows Operating Discipline policies, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.

  • Operates and field checks process equipment. Monitors process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment and control systems and makes appropriate decisions to maintain and/or achieve desired rates and conditions aligned with Plant/Site/Business goals.

  • Performs scheduled operational and related tasks and tasks that arise as a result of resolving unplanned events.

  • Works with shift team members and other shift teams to balance workload ensuring assigned tasks are completed by due dates.

  • Maintains qualification in assigned areas and completes training goals in a timely manner.

  • Mentors and trains new and existing operations personnel.

  • Performs Autonomous Maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate policies, procedures, processes and disciplines. Note: Subject to local agreements.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with ONE of the following:


  • 1 or more years of experience in a manufacturing role.

  • A Certification or Associates degree or higher in Applied Science or similar field of study. In lieu of a degree, 4 or more years of technical military training will be considered.

Also required:


  • Ability to arrive to work in enough time to be dressed and prepared to work by the start of the shift.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:


  • Lift, push, and pull.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

  • Work in tight and closed in spaces.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator.

  • Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.

  • Work in an area with hazardous materials.

  • Hand Movement.

  • Use of Foot Controls.

  • Repetition.

  • Balancing.

Your preferred qualifications:


  • Previous experience working in a Chemical Manufacturing environment.

  • Previous experience as a Production Operator.

  • Forklift experience.

Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include:


  • Mechanically inclined.

  • Ability to troubleshooting and analyzing technical equipment.

  • Data entry skills (basic computer skills).

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and SAP.

  • Self-motivated with a desire for career growth.

  • Ability to communicate to team via e-mail, as well as face-to-face individually and in team settings.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Time management.

  • Work in a team environment to meet team/site goals.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others, with a proven history of addressing safety concerns and issues.
