Dow has exciting opportunities for Shipping Technicians in Carrollton, KY.

About You:

The Shipping Technician is responsible for execution of the packaging and shipping schedule for non-bulk materials in a manner that adheres to all Dow Corning standards, policies and procedures. Furthermore, the Shipping Technician is also responsible for housekeeping in the area and preventative maintenance activities defined by area procedures. This is a full-time position.

You Key Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Operation of packaging equipment (Drum Filling, IBC filling, palletizing and wrapping, QA testing).


  • Operation of fork trucks.


  • Operations of yard tractor - Moving box trailers and containers.


  • Inspection and loading of box trailers and overseas containers.


  • Create delivery paperwork.


  • Receive and properly store raw materials.


  • Understand and adhere to all company procedures, policies and standards.


  • Understand and adhere to all regulatory requirements for Hazmat and non-hazmat shipments.


  • Housekeeping/5S to ensure a safe and efficient production environment. The Shipping Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work area. This may include cleaning up spills, picking up debris, rolling up hoses, washing equipment, etc.


  • Receive and deliver training to maintain a highly capable workforce. Shipping Technician are expected to train and work with new employees to develop a good understanding of the process and creating a safe learning environment.


  • Support Emergency Response activities.



Required Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.


  • Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.


  • Willing and able to work overtime as needed.


  • Current, valid US drivers license.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • 1 or more years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.


  • Experience in a shipping and/or supply chain role.


  • Experience operating a fork truck.


  • Experience in packaging operations.

  • Willing and able to comply with all Safety regulations as mandated by Site and Corporation, as well as Local, State, and Federal guidelines.


  • Willing and able to learn and use all applicable computer based systems as required, such as Outlook, Word, SAP, and web-based functions.


  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and as a representative of the team to others.


  • Goal oriented, self sufficient, self reliant, and self starter


  • Personally responsible, capable of situation management through prioritization, and multi-tasking.


  • Excellent communication skills.
