Job Description:

An independent teaching hospital located in New York City is looking for an Assistant Vice President of Psychiatry to join their team. 

This 700 bed academic hospital is one of the top ranked hospitals in the nation and offers it's patients a wide range of services including behavioral health, cardiovascular services, transplant programs, obstetrics, geriatric care, neuroscience, surgical services, and much more. 

The AVP, will be responsible for providing clinical oversight of nursing practices for the department of Psychiatry and ensure high quality patient care, and monitor the use of labor and non-labor resources. The AVP will direct the development of department goals and objectives in collaborations with members of the medical, administrative, and patient services leadership. The AVP will develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for patient services and monitor reporting units for compliance. In addition, the AVP will select and develop leadership teams of clinical managers and staff as well as oversee department operating, capital, and program budgets. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's Degree in Psychiatric, Behavioral Health Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or MBA.


• Current NYS License as RN


• Minimum of 7 years experience in a behavioral health hospital setting


• Prior Leadership experience required
