As the Head of Global Access, Neuroscience working in Global Pricing and Access (GPA), which is a department within Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS), Takeda's Global Commercial Strategy unit, you will be empowered to drive enterprise-level decision-making by shaping and defining global Market Access & Pricing strategies for Takeda's life-transforming and life-saving medicines. In this role, you are responsible for building and driving a team of Access Leads in the development of Market Access & Pricing strategies and key deliverables critical for a successful product launch that translates into sustainable growth for the business.

Reporting to the Head of Global Pricing and Access Strategy, the Neuroscience Head plays a central role in building Takeda's Access capabilities. The Head of Global Access, Neuroscience shapes the Takeda Neuroscience strategy leading the GPA team members by driving and engaging cross-functional and teams to support development plans meeting the needs of the business from an access and reimbursement perspective.

How you will contribute:


  • The Head of Global Access, Neuroscience is an internal and external champion of healthcare sustainability to move society towards value recognition of pharmaceutical innovation that improves patient outcomes and creates societal value. This role will support the neuroscience portfolio and team members in incorporation of these principles into planning.

  • The Head of Global Access, Neuroscience is also responsible for ensuring that Access & Pricing industry trends are integrated into the TAU disease strategy and R&D programs in order to unlock the full value of Takeda assets. As a Senior Access & Pricing leader within a top pharma company, the Head of Access Neuroscience is responsible to drive partnerships that improve patient outcomes and create societal value through partnerships that enhance the sustainability of healthcare systems.

  • Drives Takeda portfolio prioritization and decision making at governance bodies by integrating Access & Pricing strategy into neuroscience decision-making.

  • Responsible for management and development of GPA neuroscience team members.

  • Oversees the integration of the Takeda Pricing Principle (speed, coverage, value), pricing policy and pricing governance within all Access decisions within the portfolio.

  • Sets the strategic direction and prioritization to drive Access and value sustainability within Takeda Therapeutic Areas; collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic direction and evidence requirements.

  • Contributes to Takeda organizational committees (CLC, PALT, BRC, PRC, AtM, etc) and elevates the voice of value demonstration and sustainable Access.

  • Partner with BU Presidents to define tangible Access & Pricing solutions that support Takeda's long-term vision of bringing treatments to patients.

  • Contributes to decisions on cross-Regional Pricing trade-offs as a key member of the Takeda Pricing Committee

  • Excels at internal & external stakeholder engagement to find win-win-win solutions that will deliver long-term value to patients, stakeholders and Takeda.

  • Acts as a role model by championing Takeda values (Takeda-ism: integrity, fairness, honesty and perseverance) within the Takeda framework of Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business, to deliver sustainable value to patients, healthcare systems and society.

  • Drives Access & Pricing decision making as part of Business Development/ Due Diligence teams.

  • Committed to build and develop Takeda talent, investing in new capabilities and developing them to be industry-recognized thought leaders.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree required, Masters or PhD preferred

  • 15+ years of experience in market access working with specialty and rare diseases products

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in cross-functional teams and within matrix organizations

  • Proven ability to represent all market access related functions' perspectives in development and implementation of product strategies.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in Global, Regional and Local roles related to Access or related functions

  • Experience and successful participation in payer negotiations

  • Evidence of strategic thinking excellence applied to top Access markets, including US, Japan, China, EU5

  • International travel expected at 40% of time.
