Senior Director - Regulatory Compliance Testing & Monitoring at Equifax Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description:

As a leading member of the Equifax Compliance team, this position is responsible for managing all internal regulatory compliance reviews of Equifax business units, creating the compliance testing risk assessment for all Equifax business units, and leading any special projects. This position will manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables, as well as support other compliance initiatives. The Sr. Director, Compliance, will be a versatile team player, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic in addressing new challenges across the organization. Job Responsibilities Manage a team of Compliance Reviewers/Professionals with the following:


  • Planning, design, and execution of testing and monitoring activities in a business unit for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies;
  • Planning, design, and execution of special projects as requested by the Chief Compliance Officer or General Counsel;
  • Conduct risk assessments and analysis;
  • Manage multiple projects or compliance reviews which may require oversight of various other team members where responsibilities may require crossing organizational lines;
  • Direct the team on how to interpret internal policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations that impact the business unit;
  • Annually analyze and improve the compliance testing and monitoring review program, annual risk assessment for testing, and scheduling the next year's test plan;

    • Completion includes involvement of Senior Legal and BU Partners in preparation for Board approval;
  • Independently lead meetings and discussions with senior level management and staff to understand and document processes and systems;
  • Assist senior level management in developing and writing response plans to adequately address observations, and consult with senior management on remediation where necessary;
  • Manage the Testing Team's uploading, monitoring, validation of evidence and closing of observations, recommendations, and response plans in Archer;
  • Establish, build and manage on-going relationships with the business units;
  • Manage the identification and implement best practices and enhancements to improve products, processes and services for regulatory compliance;
  • Manage the coordination of testing schedules and meet regularly with Internal Audit as prescribed by the CFPB;
  • Prepare status updates for senior management (Audit Committee) on compliance testing activities and compliance review progress throughout the year.
  • Partner with Information Technology (IT) on technical observations or exceptions that require automation or IT support;
  • Review and approve the Testing Team's report draft of documented observations, recommendations and management response plans in preparation to send out to senior level management;
The position will be expected to handle such additional ad hoc activities as requested by the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel. Skills/Experience

  • Ability to manage a team of compliance professionals;
  • Knowledge of compliance examinations, applicable laws and regulations;
  • The ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems and to manage large projects;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence others and build relationships;
  • Ability to interpret and present complex results to all levels of management;
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft systems and other technology systems used by Equifax, including Google Suite and RSA-Archer;
  • Knowledge and experience in working with laws/regulations that impact Equifax - FCRA, GLB, UDAAP, Dodd-Frank, Reg. V;
  • Demonstrated experience as a Manager, Consultant or Compliance Reviewer;
  • CRCM, CIA, CFE or any other certification preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, accounting, information systems or a related field; and
  • 10+ years of related experience in developing and interpreting process documentation, identifying risks, implementing and monitoring controls, developing tests plans, leading meetings and discussions with senior level management.
