Your role at Samsonite:

This Position is responsible for preparation of state and local corporate income and franchise tax returns as well as assisting in preparation of federal income tax returns. Additional functions include providing support for state income and franchise tax and sales and use tax audits, assisting tax team with sales and use tax processes and process improvements, and performing tax research as needed. This position also works closely with corporate finance group and other departments as necessary in order to obtain information for the accurate and timely reporting of tax information. You will work on-site 4 days per week with the opportunity to work remotely one day per week.

US Income Tax


  • Assistance with preparation of corporate federal consolidated income tax returns

  • Calculation and coordination of federal estimated tax payments


State & Local Income Tax

  • Preparation of apportionment data and supporting documentation

  • Preparation of estimated tax payment calculations and payments

  • Preparation and filing of tax returns (using OneSource tax compliance software) and supporting documentation

  • Resolve notices and inquiries from state tax authorities

  • Assist with quarterly state tax provision and reconciliation of state tax payable


Sales & Use / Indirect Tax

  • Assist with monthly sales tax processes (system administration, importing/reconciling data, preparing journal entries as needed)

  • Preparation of monthly sales tax account reconciliations and analysis as required

  • Complete various ancillary state indirect tax returns

  • Assist Tax Analysts in problem resolution in the filing of sales and use tax returns and processes


Sales & Use / State Income tax audits

  • Assist with state income and sales and use tax audits

  • Work to reduce future exposure to assessments through process improvement and data management


We're excited if you have:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or equivalent work experience

  • 2 + years of experience in Corporate Tax, Corporate Accounting or public accounting firm

  • Experience with US State tax reporting and compliance.

  • Experience in State and local reporting

  • Knowledge of multi-state sales/use tax laws

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Strong technology skills: specifically related to reporting and compliance; to include Excel, Word, HFM, SAP, One Source, SharePoint or similar
