Job Description:

Performs multiple functions to ensure IT Linuxinfrastructure is available, reliable, and stable either individually or underthe guidance of experienced personnel. This includes the evaluation, selection, installation, and maintenanceof operating systems software and hardware. Monitoring the systems and serving as a focal point for support is alsodone routinely. Support is generally for medium to large scale systems of highcriticality to the business. Planningfor the future by setting direction and documenting direction for theirspecific area of responsibility for the information systems infrastructure isexpected. Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and works inaccordance with established HS&E requirements.

You Must Have:
  • U.S. Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required USDept. of Energy "Q"-level security clearance 2 or more years of direct work experience.
  • 3-6 years of practical experience in a systemsadministration role preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Information Systems,Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with a minimum of 24 semester hoursof computer-related courses, or two additional years of direct work experiencein lieu of a degree.

  • General knowledge and experiencein scripting tools (like PowerShell, Puppet, Perl, Python) to support database,web and application administration

  • Ability to express technicalconcepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • General knowledge of cybersecurity design requirements
  • Ability to manage projects in anorganized manner to achieve results
  • General understanding ofinstallation, configuration and administration of enterprise web services,application servers, databases, clustering backup and recovery systems,portals, firewalls, virtual private networks, terminal services, authenticationand authorization, collaboration and load balancing.
  • Experience with Linux AdminSkills: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Apache, WebLogic, Tomcat, REST Services, webcertificates, SSH key management, PGP encryption, Samba
  • Create and maintain documentationof processes/procedures and scripts
  • Detail orientated, able to trackand apply advanced troubleshooting skills for multiple complex issues andprojects simultaneously
  • Independent ability to quicklyanalyze, isolate and diagnose complex problems, recommend remedial actions andimplement resolutions
  • Availability to work after hourswork/on call/off-hours maintenance schedules
  • General knowledge of and abilityto apply Cyber Security requirements
  • Ability to work withoutsupervision, given latitude for independent action, decision making anddeveloping/applying solutions
  • Escalate issues directly withvendors applying required patch levels, hot fixes, and revisions
  • Aptitude to continuously learn andexpand job responsibilities
