Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Pyramid Healthcare Drivers are a core component of exceptional behavioral healthcare service delivery.  Our drivers are the first face our patients see when entering our care and they’re the last face our patient’s see when leaving our care. Drivers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and safe, caring transport for all patients. Drivers transport patients to and from clinical services, ancillary and support services. Other responsibilities include vehicle cleaning and sanitation to ensure a safe transport environment for both patients and staff.

 

Deliverables/Principal Results Expected:


  • Orientation, training and scheduling of drivers.

  • Receive transportation calls/inquiries.

  • Attend meetings as required.

  • Complete all required reports associated with the Transportation Department.

  • Model appropriate driver skills to other drivers.

  • Ability to respond to emergency situations.

  • Ability to work alone.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of force, if necessary. 

  • Will have a balance of 65% driving 35% administrative time required to balance and work according to daily and weekly need.   

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Technical Competencies:   Valid driver’s license; familiarity of basic auto repairs.  Knowledge of CARF regulations.  Determine most efficient routes to specified locations; ensures driver availability when needed; maintain a safe driving record; demonstrates conduct in keeping with PYRAMID ethical standards; participates in training and development activities to enhance job knowledge and skills.

 

Education, Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Degree preferred.  Experience preferred, but not required.  Team player; confidentiality; safety; excellent communication skills; effective interpersonal relationships; calm and decisive in crisis situations.
