Your role at Samsonite:

You will provide full scope accounting support to the business and facilitate the timely month-end closing process, including the monthly global consolidation, F/X, and account reconciliation process. You will also be responsible for applying accounting principles to provide timely and accurate financial information, including preparation of financial reports, variance analysis, and identification trends. Provide technical accounting support to co-workers and multi-national department heads; assist the Director of Financial Reporting with quarterly and year end requirements as well as ad hoc reporting as required. You will work out of our Mansfield, MA headquarters.


  • Responsible for preparing corporate monthly journal entries, including accruals, Intercompany Transactions, Interest Accruals and payments.

  • Prepare and post monthly payroll entries for US entities.

  • Work with AP & AR to ensure payables and receivables are recorded accurately and timely.

  • Ensure all monthly recurring entries and all new invoices/fees are being amortized and expensed accurately

  • Update intercompany loan calculation spreadsheets for various loans. Prepare/park journal entries to accrue for intercompany interest receivables/payables

  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, research more complex discrepancies, determine appropriate course of action, and resolve differences timely.

  • Run required month-end reports from SAP and HFM.

  • Help to prepare all quarter and annual government census reports. (Relaying required information from company financial statements to the census reports as instructions direct, as well as interact with necessary departments)

  • Work with internal and external auditors on quarterly and yearly audits.

  • Contribute to special projects, perform assigned projects with highest attention to detail, exhibiting strong work ethic.

  • Strong working relationships across various functions, providing various accounting support to both domestic and global accounting team.

  • Other duties as assigned.


We're excited if you have:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance

  • 5+ years' of accounting experience

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word


Preferred Skills and Industry experience:

  • MBA a plus

  • SAP a plus

  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal

  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Financial reporting experience helpful but not required
