Administrative Assistant

Intertek is searching for an Administrative Assistant to join our Electricalteam in our Arlington Heights, IL office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in!

The Administrative Assistant will perform a full range of administrative duties to support the team., utilizing Microsoft Office 365 Suite software, event planning, administrative planning, researching a wide variety of information requests, etc. We are looking for somebody with prior experience, supporting large, dispersed teams, in an administrative position.

What you will do:


  • Coordinating specific administrative programs as assigned
  • Performing typing duties utilizing Microsoft Office software and analyzing the data that is produced
  • Handling vendor repair quotes and creating Purchase Orders
  • Assisting with invoice coding and tracking payments
  • Assisting with expense report preparation
  • Assisting with travel arrangements
  • Performing general faxing, copying, mailing, etc.
  • Answering the main front desk phone and provide exemplary customer service to clients
  • Setting up conference room(s) for visitors and in-house meetings
  • Maintaining an adequate stock of general office supplies
  • Ensuring that general office equipment is functioning in satisfactory condition
  • Ensuring that administrative projects are maintained appropriately
  • Assuming the role of "lead worker" in an assigned area and coordinating the daily workflow in that area
  • Performing other work as required

What is takes to be successful in this role:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience directly related to the role
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Proof-reading skills, including a proficient understanding of spelling and grammar
  • Ability plan, organize, and complete a variety of projects within established standards, objectives, and time frames
