Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Sr. Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design and content development of mission critical learning programs, including but not limited to online learning, instructor-led training, blended instruction solutions, and virtual sessions. Development will focus on the clinical/technical aspects of our Intuitive products will be developed using programs such as Rise 360, Storyline 360, and Microsoft Office. Technical product videos and online learning modules will be integrated into learning management systems and delivery platforms. The Sr. Instructional Designer will also be responsible for taking an active role in onboarding and mentoring Instructional Designers, managing large cross-departmental projects, driving process improvement, and conducting needs/gap analysis to improve deliverables and learning outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and capture learning content
Research, recommend, and implement creative learning experiences
Develop/review videos, eLearning, instructor-led, blended learning, and virtual training curriculums to optimize efficacy and learner experience
Use eLearning authoring tools to develop learning content
Design, develop and conduct assessments and evaluation
Analyze assessment and evaluation results to drive design/development improvements
Project manage all phases of learning projects - analysis, design, development, implementation & evaluation
Mentor Instructional Designers
Drive change through need/gap analysis, focus groups, etc.
Analyze process improvement opportunities to include defining, writing, and piloting process workflows
Partner with internal and external teams to drive strategic improvements
Research, recommend, and manage 3rd party training solutions
Qualifications
Skill / Job Requirements
8-10 yrs. relevant professional experience
1-2 yrs. experience in biotech or medical device organization preferred
Education Background
Curriculum Development or Instructional Design/Technology Master degree preferred
Education degree acceptable
College degree required
Comprehensive eLearning and classroom design and facilitation skills
Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to learning solutions
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Experience working with SMEs in a team environment
Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)
Ability to self-manage multiple development projects and deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Ability to define and document process
Ability to manage large strategic projects
Ability to foster and create strong working relationships
Ability to coach and provide feedback
