Overview
This position involves collaboration with a team to complete project deliverables and tasks to support the development of catheter delivery systems for new medical products and therapies in development at Cook Advanced Technologies. The function will primarily be involved with projects in early research and development phases, undergoing initial or early clinical trials both in the US and OUS.
Responsibilities
This position, with focus on delivery system design development, requires a technically sound engineer capable of driving a project with minimal supervision. Responsibilities will include:
Design, document, prototype, and evaluate delivery system designs for new medical products as part of an integrated development team.
Develop/refine manufacturing processes for delivery systems in collaboration with project teams
Interact with management and technical leadership to plan, complete and report results of experiments, tests, prototype development, literature surveys, etc. that contribute to projects.
Assure that project deliverables and tasks are technically excellent and completed in a timely fashion.
Document deliverables and other activities in design history file.
Maintain and develop the technical capabilities necessary to provide technical solutions to project needs.
Understand the intellectual property process.
Qualifications
Technical skills: BS in engineering, engineering technology, science or equivalent experience. 5 + years of experience in the development of catheter delivery systems for use in commercial medical products is required.
Innovative: Proven ability to innovate in the development of interventional medical devices and creating solutions to technical problems with an eye toward providing practical solutions in a timely manner.
Task Oriented: Demonstrated knowledge and ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate the completion of deliverables and tasks.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate and constructively collaborate with colleagues.
Professional: The ability to remain professional and positive in all personal interactions, and provide an example of good work ethic, a willingness to help, and personal discipline in achieving goals.
