Job Description:

ERM seeks a motivated Principal Consultant, Product Stewardship and Supply Chain, with significant experience to grow and support our sustainable supply chain services business in North America and globally. This is a partner-track opportunity for a Director level professional looking to further advance their career with a global sustainability firm, and to make a significant impact in successfully implementing ERM's global strategy.

ERM is a leading firm in the marketplace for corporate sustainability services.  This includes helping our clients build resilient supply chains globally and drive towards sustainably sourcing their materials and services. ERM supports many of the largest pharmaceutical, chemical and manufacturing companies in evaluating the performance of their suppliers on environmental, safety, social and sustainability issues.  Sustainable sourcing is a fast growing area of the market and we are looking for a seasoned professional who has experience supporting companies build and implement sustainable sourcing programs.

ERM is structured to encourage collaboration and networking among regional offices, providing opportunities to collaborate with ERM’s global sustainability and supply chain professionals to share expertise and consulting opportunities. Our many leaders proactively work together to build strategies and campaigns around key business drivers for our clients, with the primary focus of finding and delivering high-profile rewarding projects and building our business.

As a senior leader on this team, you will be fully accountable for successfully selling and consulting on supply chain sustainability projects to help grow and support our business, while networking with ERM's global sustainability and supply chain professionals to share best practices across the industry. The ideal candidate will have established relationships with global companies to expand our supply chain sustainability services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and implement strategic market/business plan, provide leadership, and deliver financial results to expand ERM's supply chain sustainability services and client base globally.  Serve as a key member of the “core” technical team to drive double-digit profitable growth of ERM’s sustainability services business across North America and globally.

  • Serve as a Senior Program Director for strategic supply chain sustainability programs for a variety of industrial clients with complex business challenges.  Work closely with clients and develop strong relationships to understand specific processes and develop a sustainable sourcing strategy to help clients manage their supply chain risks. Achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.

  • As a “seller/doer,” contribute to expanding ERM’s supply chain sustainability services annually.  Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients.  Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.

  • Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the regional and global sustainability market (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development).

  • Mentor junior and mid-level staff in the proper planning and execution of projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverable work products.

  • Develop a working understanding of ERM’s other consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling other services to existing clients.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Experience and confidence to lead and grow business in a dynamic market environment.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree specializing in one or more of procurement, supply chains, sustainable sourcing, corporate social sustainability or related fields.

  • 15+ years of experience in the procurement or supply chain field including sustainable sourcing.

  • Well established reputation and recognized technical expertise by the marketplace.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build, coach, and mentor collaborative teams.

  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and “people” skills.

  • Positive outlook, collaborative, and driven by the success of ERM as a global company.
