Job Description:

Do you have a creative eye for connecting content with messaging to communicate a clear and compelling story?

NewsChannel 5, an award-winning EW Scripps station , based in Nashville, Tennessee, is looking for a Commercial Producer.

The Commercial Producer has a listening ear, vision for strong storytelling and sharp time management skills threaded together with a high level of customer service to support our sales team, creative services director and clients to produce television commercials and other program materials.

Daily tasks may include conceptualizing, coordinating, writing, shooting, and editing commercials as well as balancing mission and margin for the station and sales team.

What you’ll do:


  • Partner with Sales team and Creative Services Director to build successful creative campaigns

  • Support sales team in servicing client business needs through advertising strategies

  • Conceive, write, and coordinate all video and audio materials necessary for production of commercials for station clients.

  • Ensure client satisfaction within parameters of budget and time

What you’ll need:


  • College degree in Communications or a related field required.

  • Minimum 2 years experience producing, editing, and writing.

  • Don’t have Broadcasting experience?  No worries.  Creative minds from other industries encouraged to apply.


  • Videography skills to capture footage in studio as well as on assigned locations

  • Working knowledge of the Avid Editing, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop

  • Professionalism to work with all levels of management and clients

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required.
