Basic Job Functions:

Research, analyze and report on various cost drivers within the Solar Industry.  Ensures all activities are carried out effectively, efficiently and in accordance with First Solar’s Core Values.  Works with Finance, Supply Chain Teams, Product Management and other functional areas to effectively support business awareness, metrics and process improvement in alignment with the business unit goals.

Experience:    

• 1-3 plus years of experience in Supply Chain is required


• Minimum 1 year of experience working in cross functional teams is required


• Experience with data analytics


• Experience with PowerPoint


• Experience with cost management preferred


• Experience using SAP or other ERP system

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or related business field

• Ability to take direction and conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others


• Ability to prioritize tasks consistent with achieving overall supply management organizational goals

Essential Responsibilities:

• Act with management direction to collect, analyze and summarize information.  Proactively seeks and utilizes internal and external sources of information for analysis. 


• Ability to support data mining from SAP (or Oracle) and other sources, as appropriate


• Coordinate the development of presentations in accordance to the overall Sourcing cadence


• Work independently and in collaboration with the commodity team and leadership to provide opportunity-focused competitor analyses


• Work independently and in collaboration with the commodity team to assist with various category and supplier management responsibilities. 


• Maintain databases, processes, competitive intelligence, and modeling tools of which includes multiple sources of intelligence


• Track a wide range of indexed market commodities across Solar Industry (module and construction) and communicate market trends while formalizing direct impact on FSLR product line and overall solar market


• Analyze data over extended time periods to identify seasonal and market trends


• Supplier Bio: Gather data for financial assessments on key vendors. Segment key supplier P&L metrics by business unit. Identify plans/trends within Supplier future strategy.


• Supplier Bio: Work independently and in collaboration with the commodity team to create Supplier Bio/Docea of which summarizes Supplier operations. Ownership structure, Management structure, trends and risks


• Other duties as assigned to support the Sourcing group.

• Proven computer skills in a Windows environment; strong Excel, Word and Power Point skills required


• Familiarity with the functionality of SAP, or other ERP systems; Be able to pull and validate information

Reporting Relationships:

• This position will not have direct reports.

Travel:

• Up to 20% of travel may be required during a given year
